My Name is Ana
Sometimes the best story is not created but simply curated. When we asked The Redwood about a recent story, they told us about Ana, and shared the story she had written. Her honest, broken fragmented story was beautiful, and just needed the right creative touch.
We asked about getting a photo of Ana, and were told that part of her abuse had been that her partner refused to take photos of her or them together, telling her she was not valuable enough to take up space. But we worked with The Redwood, and her, to encourage her to share her story and her sparkling smile. We were able to capture emotion and feeling through a series of other, more abstract, photographs.
